Just saw this image of The National’s Matt Berninger while clicking through The Hype Machine’s great Zeitgeist feature. It’s amazing how, with a little context, a photograph can convey so much about an artist’s approach and aesthetic — as a fan of the band, this image captures it all wonderfully.
