jj, “Let Go” from nº 3 (Secretly Canadian)
Marta and I listened to nº 3 at several different intervals over the weekend and it gets better with every listen. Overall, it’s slightly darker than its predecessor, though not in a way that will confuse or bother those who came to love jj on the sun-drenched nº 2. There’s still plenty of tinkering, tropical ebb-and-flow; this album’s simply more dynamic.
Draw your own conclusion:
“From Africa to Málaga” (MP3) from nº 2
“Golden Virginia” (MP3) from nº 3
