As is pretty obvious at this point, I’m a huge fan of the young Mr. Arnalds’ work. What I’ve heard of the upcoming LP is simple but characteristically plaintive and beautiful. Most of the songs feature piano and a stringed accompaniment (often only a violin) and the glitchy electronic rhythms have been displaced by a seldom seen live drum sound. Looking forward to seeing the ambitious Arnalds continue to evolve.
