Articles and other minutia by Ryan Burleson
Tomorrow, June 4th, I’m once again DJ’ing the excellent MA’ology Fashion Show and CARE Fundraiser being held at White Provision on the Westside of Atlanta. Every year has a theme and this year’s is “Paris,” which will be reflected in the music, food, fashion, art and drinks.
If you’re unfamiliar with MA (or, Modern Atlanta), it’s essentially an ever-evolving collective of artists, architects, designers, academics and students — always with the indefatigable Bernard McCoy, Elayne DeLeo and Kevin Byrd at the helm — who come together for an annual series of events under the banner of MA’s overarching theme, “Design is Human.” Over the course of the week, there’s a modern home tour, gallery exhibitions, lectures, parties, fundraisers and all manner of activity that promotes design excellence in Atlanta. I’d keep shooting from the hip, but MA does a much better job of explaining it’s mission here.
Tickets for tomorrow night’s event are $40 online and $45 at the door, with proceeds going to CARE.
