Dwell

My old friend Bob Butler, whose portraits of me you see elsewhere on this site, is a self-taught architect. And Dwell had me write about him.

This story was tricky—I was trying to sneak a profile of a person into a feature on a house, because I felt that was the only way you could understand Bob’s designs. The editor and I didn’t exactly see eye to eye.
